A French Violin, Paul Mangenot (SOLD)
A French Violin by Paul Mangenot, circa the early 20th century. Paul Mangenot became an apprentice with Paul Bailly in his early career, and later worked in some of the main French violin workshop such as Joseph Pierre Hel, and Charles Jean Baptiste Collin-Mezin. This violin has a gorgeous maple back with the strong flame slightly descending from the joint. The ribs and scroll are similar to the back, and the violin is coated with a vivid orange varnish.
